Here are 3 Thyroid Warriors and Advocates to Follow on Social Media

Did you know that several thyroid influencers and advocates are sharing their chronic illness journeys on social media?

One of the most comforting aspects of living with an invisible illness is to know someone who shares the same experience as you. As many may know, while having a support system you can vent to and receive care from is important, it can be difficult for them to understand what you’re dealing with. With this in mind, it’s nice to have someone in your corner that truly understands the struggles of managing a chronic illness, like the symptoms, doctor’s visits, and more.

Fortunately, social media has become an outlet for chronic illness warriors across the globe to share their journeys and advocate for others. These chronic illness advocates can provide a sense of hope, offer advice, and even deliver some laughs about the nuances of living with an invisible illness.

To celebrate Thyroid Awareness Month, we’ve gathered a few of our favorite social media pages of thyroid warriors and advocates sharing their stories and providing advice.

Here’s a list of thyroid influencers you must follow on social media.

Rachel Hill of @theinvisiblehypothyroidism

Rachel Hill is an award-winning thyroid advocate, speaker, and bestselling author of the books, Be Your Own Advocate and You, Me, and Hypothyroidism. Alongside sharing her journey living with Hashimoto’s and hypothyroidism, Rachel is helping other thyroid patients become advocates for themselves. “My plan is to help others by sharing what I learn as I go along on this eventful thyroid journey myself, whilst empowering others to be their own thyroid advocate too, because that has been such a huge part of my own journey,” Rachels says on her website.

Sam of @theannoyedthyroid

Sam is the owner of the blog, The Annoyed Thyroid, which she initially started as an outlet for her experience living with thyroid cancer after being diagnosed back in 2011. Now, she writes blogs on travel, recipes, books, and her dogs. Her ability to transform her life from dealing with thyroid cancer to showing what life can look like afterward can motivate many patients battling thyroid cancer.

Brit Bertino of @bitbybitwithbrit

Brit Bertino is a mother and entrepreneur living with Hashimoto’s. As a thyroid warrior, Bertino shares how she manages her chronic illnesses and advises others living with thyroid disease. In addition to her health journey, Brit regularly posts adorable pictures of her family and other fun moments.
